Microsoft Ignite 2023 just wrapped. Here's what mattered most for enterprise IT planning.
Copilot Goes GA
Microsoft 365 Copilot is generally available November 1. $30/user/month for enterprise customers. This is the biggest Microsoft productivity announcement in years. Worth piloting, but don't rush to mass deployment until you see real ROI data.
Azure AI Expansion
Azure OpenAI Service getting more models, better fine-tuning capabilities, and enterprise security features. For companies exploring AI, Azure provides a path that fits within existing Microsoft agreements and security frameworks.
Security Copilot
Security Copilot moves toward GA. AI-assisted threat investigation and response. Interesting for understaffed security teams (which is most of us). Worth watching as it matures.
Windows Updates
Windows 11 continues to mature. Copilot integration coming. For enterprises still on Windows 10, the October 2025 end-of-support date is approaching. Time to plan migrations if you haven't started.
What I'm Planning
Based on Ignite: pilot Copilot with power users Q1 2024, evaluate Azure OpenAI for specific use cases, accelerate Windows 11 migration planning. The AI wave is real - better to ride it deliberately than be swept up in hype.
